Draft 4: THE GERITA SCEEEEENE (more like chapter actually, it’s 9 pages)
Should have been: SHIPPING SHIPPING SHIPPY SHIP SHIPPIIIIING. And the letters from Final Loop, because heartbreak </3
Preceeded by: That other scene I posted, with the angsting in Grandpa’s ruins and the printer ink and the no eye-contact. (which Feli has kept btw).
Followed by: Feli going home to tell Romano the same thing he tells Germany here.
Problems: I spent the entire 17th chapter in Draft 5 emphasizing how much the Itabros trust and rely on each other, but Draft 4 had Romano’s smothering actually smother his brother. Moving through Drafts 1 all the way to 5, this story became progressively more about family and a WHOLE LOT LESS about Romantic or Platonic loves. Romano, Seborga, and Vatican gobbled up chapters and scenes previously reserved for the other 10 mansion nations, and Feli’s just walked away from most of the interactions I tried throwing his way. ‘Tis so.
But I loved this chapter weeeeeeeh ; A;
